Who do you want to be during COVD-19? In the midst of a pandemic we tend to fall in one or all of these three categories.
April 9, 2020
1. Fear Zone
In the fear zone you are in fight or flight mode. You are hoarding food and toilet paper, complaining and whining, transmitting anger to others, and forwarding messages from others without checking the facts.
2. Learning Zone
In the learning zone you tend to begin letting things go that are not in your control, identifying your emotions, becoming aware of the situation and making strategic decisions on the best way to act, and acknowledge that everyone is trying their best. Assuming the best of others is a very good way to change your perspective and realize we are all in this together.
3. Growth Zone
In the growth zone you find your purpose, use your skills to help others in your community that are in need, you show empathy to both yourself and others, you live in the present moment, and show gratefulness.
Now to be honest we have all probably spent some time in all three of these zones over the recent weeks.
A good friend, Michael Williams, shared this…
“awaken to reality and understand where you might be at any given moment without judgement.
Welcome all emotions that come up.
Don’t judge them, support them.
Finally, for people in all zones, breathe.
Pause. And, breathe.
We will move forward.”
