Her personal motto – “Do the hard things! It’s always worth it, and it takes less time then you think!”
Causes and organizations she supports – local church, Compassion International, FCA, Campus Outreach
Joanna’s unique ability is to gather all the details, inspire calm in the midst of calamity, and listen for understanding in order to identify needs, then to create systems that accomplish action items. Joanna’s rare strengths and talents include being both detail-oriented and relationally driven, which is the perfect combination for her two official roles, Director of Client Services and Operations Manager as well as her unofficial role as “Tim Goodwin’s right hand.” Joanna stated, “I love being a small part of helping people find financial hope and that changes everything!”
Joanna is a true Georgia peach, born and raised. While attending Berry College and working on her degree in Finance, Joanna became GIA’s first college intern. Goodwin Investment Advisory quickly recognized her diligence and work ethic, eagerness to learn, incredible organizational skills, and that she was such a pleasure to be around. Upon graduation in 2014, GIA immediately offered Joanna a full-time position and she has been thriving in her role ever since. GIA is glad to have Joanna’s conscientious, considerate, precise, and patient presence in the office.
Joanna balances her hard work by being the “fun aunt” for her nieces and nephews. Plus, she is often reminded of the value of rest and taking time to be still (reading a book on her patio, spending time journaling, or being present in nature).
The best piece of advice she has ever received was from her dad – “Can’t do a kindness too soon, because you never know how soon it’ll be too late.”
If she could give her younger self one piece of advice it would be – “don’t stress out about being perfect.”
Why she loves working at GIA – “I love working for a company that cares deeply for people (employees, clients, and vendors)!”
