run for chicken

This is proof that team Goodwin Investment Advisory will run for chicken! We love supporting our local Chick-fil-A fun run each year as sponsors and participants. We enjoy participating in this beneficial event for Cherokee County, which encourages camaraderie and wellness. The run supports both the Cherokee County Educational Foundation and the Cherokee County Special Olympics. Both organizations work to improve education for all students in Cherokee County.

Listen as Ray Brown, CFP® professional Wealth Advisor, provides an update on the current market conditions. The market was close to a new record high on Monday!

Save the date

exhibition

We are sponsoring the Cabinets of Curiosities exhibit at the Reeves house in downtown Woodstock and want to invite you to Happy Hour on Friday, October 11th, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Please join us for a night of art and music and a chance to mingle with other clients and the Goodwin Investment Advisory staff.

A little more about the exhibit:

Step into a realm where art meets mystery and science intertwines with curiosity. This extraordinary showcase transforms the gallery into an eclectic cabinet of curiosities built to leave patrons questioning what they perceive as fact. Defined by the Renaissance-era Wunderkammern, or cabinets of wonder, these carefully curated displays transport visitors to a world where imagination comes to life.

Radical Generosity Challenge

How will you embrace the beauty of radical generosity this year? Consider the incredible impact you could have by giving more to your loved ones—perhaps by assisting your children with a critical financial milestone, like a downpayment on a home or helping them launch a business. Imagine the joy of making a significant donation to your church or alma mater, or the fulfillment of paying off your parent’s mortgage or car. The possibilities are endless, and the rewards are immeasurable.

If you are not in a financial position to be radically generous, do something most Americans don’t: set a Christmas budget to fund and use by Christmas! If you start now it can help you avoid overspending.

We love receiving referrals!

As a company focused on growth, we always want to connect with more clients like you. When you recommend a friend or family member, your advisor will call them directly before scheduling an intro call, as we want them to feel comfortable and create an introduction to get to know them first.

Do you know anyone who could benefit from our financial planning and investment management services? Perhaps they have recently changed jobs, are nearing retirement, or are a business owner who could benefit from more advanced tax planning.

If you do, please share their name and contact information with your advisor, and they will be happy to reach out. Sharing our website (www.goodwininvestment.com) may also be helpful.

Nourish to Flourish

By Tara Bruce

Nourish to Flourish
A simple yet powerful tool to enhance happiness and enjoyment in life is the “Three Good Things” exercise. Each night before bed, take a few minutes to write down three positive things that happened during your day. They can be big or small—anything from a successful work project to a pleasant conversation with a friend. Reflect on why these good things happened and how they made you feel.

Why It Works:

  • Shifts Focus: This exercise helps shift your focus from stress or negativity to positive aspects of your life.
  • Boosts Gratitude: Regularly recognizing good moments increases feelings of gratitude, which is strongly linked to happiness.
  • Promotes Better Sleep: Ending the day on a positive note can improve sleep quality, contributing to overall well-being.

How to Start:

  • Consistency: Make it a nightly ritual, even if it’s just a quick mental note if you don’t have time to write it down.
  • Share with Others: Consider sharing your “three good things” with a partner or friend to build connection and multiply the positivity.
Over time, this simple practice can lead to a more optimistic outlook, greater resilience, and increased happiness.
